On a recent visit to the Gold Coast, we discovered the Blue Heron Motel – and what a find! This motel is walking distance to beautiful beach, cafes and easily accessible to all that the Gold Coast has to offer. There have been recent renovations and I was very impressed – so clean and tidy. It really feels brand new. Lovely little touches in the room like plants and nice wall art. The pool was sparkling with huge sun lounges and BBQ area looked very inviting. Sadly as soon as we arrived our daughter fell ill and we had to return home immediately – The Blue Heron will be our next stop on the Gold Coast for sure.

My boyfriend and I referred to this property as our “home away from home”. When we arrived at the property we were greeted with nothing but smiles and treated like family. The room looked just like the photos, crisp and clean. There is a beautiful pool area in the centre of the motel equipped with a grill and beautiful lounge chairs. The staff are extremely friendly and are helpful in offering which beaches are worth it (from a locals perspective) and give you an inside scoop of where the best local spots to eat are; they even provide an abundance of coupons for things to do and places to eat in the reception. The location of the motel was perfect- 200m from a beautiful beach, close to delicious restaurants and only a short drive to broadbeach or surfers paradise. ALSO: If you’re worried about hearing any noise from the highway, don’t be. It is unexpectedly quiet. My boyfriend and I were only able to hear louder vehicles at the one off times they drove by, and even then the noise that we heard was slight.

We had a lovely stay from the moment we checked in, to checking out. Staff were very friendly and helpful and we even got to choose our room as a few were vacant that night. Pool was a lovely touch, nice and warm and salt water. Had a great sleep, despite being on a busy road you cannot hear a thing at night. In the morning we took the short walk down to the beach which was beautiful. Would love to stay again.

Well the owner Madam Andrea and his family, that includes her daughther Ms Alexandra, her cute little son Peter and her husband that we called him sir or boss…they are such a nice people, very warm and honest people. honestly we have no trouble with our stay in this beautiful Motel during our 3 days holiday in Gold Coast, Australia. We even received a mug with THE BLUE HERON MOTEL stated in it as a gift on our last day. Madam Andrea recommended a few restaurant which is 5 minutes walk away from her motel and frankly speaking the restaurant provides good tasty food. Madam Andrea is such a sweet person that she took her time to guide us as to where the city best view and best places we can go for the evening and also warned us to stay away from the Red Water during the day time. Basically everything is beautiful in Mermaid Beach. The people the place the beaches and of course our warm clean cosy motel…THE BLUE HERON MOTEL.
